
Coaches/Team Mom Volunteer Information
Please see the following instructions to become a Coach or Team Mom in Football or Cheer.

All Head Coaches are Appointed and Voted Upon by OSA Board of Directors.

Team Staff Members are selected by the Head Coach and approved by the OSA Board

All Volunteer Paperwork Must Be Submitted by May 30, 2015

Volunteer Paperwork may be emailed to Volunteer@OceanwaySports.com

All Badge Process Documentation and Online Courses must be completed by June 15th in order to have your badge ready for August 1st.
NEW VOLUNTEERS TO OSA POP WARNER & CITY OF JAX PARKS DEPT

All New Volunteer must complete OSA Volunteer Application Form and Pop Warner Forms.

All Volunteers MUST provide a CLEAR copy of your Florida’s Drivers License.

Football Volunteers- Must complete the 4 hour Pop Warner Coaches Clinic provided by Greater Jax Pop Warner Conference. This Clinic must be renewed every 3 years. Along with USA Football Online Course.

Cheer Volunteers– Must complete Required Cheer Clinic provided by Greater Jax Pop Warner Conference and YACADA Online Training.

All Volunteers MUST complete background check through the City of Jax Parks Dept. – You can do this during the clinics! If unable to get in to see MIKE JAMES during Clinic, CALL SHERRY WELKA TO INSTRUCT YOU FURTHER!

If you have ever been issued a COJ Parks Badge for any other sport, league or association, please fill out a COJ Continuous Form. See Sherry – Will need to know what sport & park.

Must complete OSA Coaches Code of Conduct Agreement. (Will be provide at Volunteer Meeting)

Must pay all badge and clinic fees.
RETURNING VOLUNTEERS TO OSA / POP WARNER

All Returning Volunteers must complete the Pop Warner Volunteer Forms.

Must provide a CLEAR copy of your Florida Driver’s License

Must check to see if your Clinics are up to date. Clinics are only good for 3 CONSECUTIVE years.

Must fill out COJ Continuous Form.

All Football Volunteers must complete USA Football "Heads Up" Online Course, including Team Moms.

Online Course Instructions and Discount Code will be given once you have been determined as a Team Staff Member. (New for 2014)
CHEERLEADING VOLUNTEERS

New Coaches AND Team Moms must attend the Cheer Clinics in July. Clinic is good for 3 years. Must also be renewed every 3 years.

Cheer Clinic Cost must pe paid in advance to Cheer Coordinator before attending clinic.

New for 2014 - YACADA Online Course - Must be completed by all Coaches, Team Moms, Coach Trainees and Student Demonstrators. Print and submit the End of Course Certificate to Volunteer@OceanwaySports.com. Course is good for 3 years and is taking place of the ASEP Course.

If you have an active ASEP and is still good at this time, you will not need the YACADA Course. But all other renewals or new volunteers must do YACADA.

Online Course Instructionsand Discount Code will be given once you have been determined as a Team Staff Member.
TEAM INSTRUCTIONS

Team Staff is chosen by the Head Coach with Board Approval.

Each Team is allowed a maximum of 8 badged staff members
-
Each Team must provide 2 Weigh Masters. This is a separate badge/clinic. Clinic is good for 3 consecutive years, but badge must be renewed every year.

Each team must have at least 1 CPR certified staff member. This person must be at practices. Recommend having 2, for a back- up.

Each Team will be provided an Emergency Plan Checklist.
BACKGROUND CHECK AND BADGE FEES FOR ALL OSA VOLUNTEERS

Badge Cost is $30.00 ~ This covers OSA’s cost for the background checks, football clinics, & COJ/GJPWC Badge fees

Badge Fee must be paid by July 24, 2015 in order to receive badge on August 1st

Pay badge fees directly to Volunteer Coordinator or OSA Board Secretary

All Local Football and Cheer Coaching Clinics are conducted at Sandalwood High School located at 2750 John Prom Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32246
Please plan to arrive 30-45 mins ahead in order to have enough time to get signed in for clinics. You must be pre-registered with Association in order to attend.

Football Coaches Clinic - Starts at 9:00am
Tiny Mite Coaches Clinic -starts at 2:00pm
Cheer Coaches Clinic - starts at 9:00am(Only Cheer Clinic in Jax for 2015)
July 18th- (This has been changed from 25th)

Note: In 2015 there will be NO AUGUST CLINIC and Weighmasters must attend Standard Coaches Clinic. There will be no separate Weighmaster Clinic.
