Welcome to Oceanway Sports Association NFL Flag Football.

 

Oceanway Sports Association is a Youth Sports Association located in North East Jacksonville.

 

Please note that the Pop Warner boundaries for Oceanway Sports Association do not apply for NFL Flag Football

 

General Information about the Football Season

Teams will be determined through the month of December, after all registrations are complete. Head Coaches and their Coaching staff will then be determine for all teams. Teams are formed based on the results of registration and Coaches willing to do the task as Head Coach.

 

Exactly what level your child will play at is based on his/her age.

 

When does the season start and what about practices?

First Day of practice will be January 5th with a skills challenge. All of OSA's teams will practice at Sheffield Regional Park. Teams will then be determined and divided with regular practices beginning the week of January 11th. 

 

Teams will generally practice each week on Tuesday or Thursday and Games will be played on Friday evenings and Saturdays beginning January 15th

 

Head Coaches will contact you before the week of January 11th to introduce themselves and provide you with practice information.

 

What equipment will I need for my child?

Parents will need to provide Football Cleats.

A mouth piece is suggested.

 

OSA will issue game jerseys and flags.

 

This is an exciting time for the kids but set their expectations, it generally takes a few practices to properly learn the fundimentals necessary to compete.

 

Where are the games played?

All games will be played at Sheffield Regional Park unless post season play is scheduled.

 

When does the seaosn end?

The season will end around March 10th. (Subject to change for playoffs)

 

Playoffs & Championships

After the regular season ends and depending on how well your child's team performs through the regular season, the team may be eligible to go on to playoffs. That information will be given later.

 

Getting off to a good start:

After your child is properly registered either in person or online, the next step is to wait for your Coach or Team Mom to contact you. DO NOT BE ALARMED if you are not contacted by the 1st of January.

 

Simply contact the Football Director via the e-mail address below and let them know that you have not been contacted and you will be provided with clarification and further instructions.

 

Your child will need to wear football cleats to each practice and game. The kids will be in shorts and t-shirts for practices and jersey's will be worn at games.
